The Michigan City Historical Society in Michigan City, Indiana, invites you to visit the Old Lighthouse Museum that offers interesting and informative self-guided tours, audio tours and docent-led tours. The Michigan City Historical Society, a non-profit organization, leased the Old Lighthouse Museum in 1965 to restore and establish a museum, and in 1973 a replica of the original lantern tower was installed on the roof of the building. Furnishings in the museum were donated by interested citizens, and the museum is staffed and maintained by dedicated volunteer docents. Our gift shop has an interesting seletions of souvenirs, books, postcards, clothing as well as figurines.
