Three very different shops under one roof, we are often referred to by our customers as 'the nicest shop in Wells'. our popular Coffee Shop offers generous freshly filled rolls, light bites, savoury snacks and delicious desserts just a stone's throw from the famous harbour. Sit back, relax and enjoy brunch, lunch or afternoon tea in our picturesque picnic garden.

If you can't make the trip to North Norfolk, you can always buy over the web - our online shops offer many of our most popular products with secure ordering and fast delivery.  And if you're curious as to where the name of the shop comes from, Mermaids Purse is the name for the purse-shaped egg case of certain skates and sharks which can be found washed up along many local beaches.  Visit our Coffee Shop and be tempted by our fabulous selection of freshly filled rolls, homemade cakes, creamy strawberry scones, hot toasties and scrummy savouries including sausage rolls, cornish pasties and steak bakes.

Our freshly made, generously filled rolls contain many locally produced ingredients, from Mrs Temple's Wighton cheese to the famous Cromer crab. Our seafood specials are a summer sensation, and our daily specials are popular with regulars who like to be surprised.

Our pretty picninc garden is the perfect environment in which to have lunch, where you can enjoy watching the various birds and butterflies that live in the garden, and the occasional ducks that like to visit.  Our garden is now home to 10 recycled plastic picnic benches. Each bench is made from robust and solid recycled plastic, the equivalent of more than 2000 plastic bottles. They are completely weatherproof, won't rot, corrode or splinter, with the added advantage of helping to improve the environment.
