Lakeside Golf Club is a scenic course that is set amidst towering coastal mountains with the fresh smell of the Pacific Ocean just a few short blocks away. Beautifully laid out, this 18 hole golf course has meticulously groomed fairways and rolling terrain. Each hole is unique offering challenges and enjoyment for golfers of all skill levels. Water hazards come into play on six holes. Hole number ten, a 500 yard par 5, requires a tee shot onto a dogleg left fairway with a lake that runs along the entire left side with two large bunkers sitting on the right. There are eight par threes and two par fives from the men's tees.
Lakeside has the Northwest's largest indoor driving range. Put "driving range" and "Pacific Northwest" in the same sentence and most people will conjure up similar images: outdoors in the soaking rain, stifling heat or indoors slapping a golf ball into a net a few feet away. "The driving range completes the golfing experience at Lakeside," says a smiling and proud Todd Young, resident PGA professional and General Manager. The brainchild of Pat Lockhart, one of Lakeside's owners, and designed by Young, the cage at the range is just over one hundred feet deep, thirty feet high and one hundred feet wide. Behind the net, giving the golfers a spectacular backdrop, is a huge (twenty feet high by one hundred feet wide), enticing golf course mural, captured from Ireland by golf course architect Bunny Mason. Further enhancing the experience are the presence of mirrors and video cameras, which allow students of the game to study their images. Fully floored with indoor-outdoor ultra-turf carpet, they feature ten separate, divided and matted hitting stations. A golfer has the opportunity to work on all facets of his or her game as there are nine holes of putting and two two hundred square foot target greens to practice pitching. The Golf Club provides free loaner clubs for both the driving range customer as well as free use of clubs to those golfers who go out on the course.
