Welcome to The Pub. The crew here at Howard's Pub welcomes you to our little corner of paradise.
While we at the Pub offer what some might call "fast food", this IS Ocracoke, and things just don't happen here at the same pace as in the real world. (That, by the way, is why most of us are here!)
We make each item for every order as you request it, and most are made from "scratch" - (i.e., our half-pound burgers are weighed and hand-shaped from lean ground beef, then charbroiled to your liking; our oysters and clams are shucked only after you order; our french fries are hand-cut from choice Idaho potatoes; our desserts change daily; and our chili, chowder and other soups are made several times a day from our own recipes.) As a result, while we try to serve you in a timely fashion, you're just not going to get food served as fast as in the drive-thru back home. (You may, however, notice less heartburn!)
