Holly Bank Cottage is a lovely self-catering holiday cottage in the peaceful village of Thornthwaite, close to Keswick in the Lake District of the United Kingdom, and has wonderful views of Skiddaw and the Helvelyn range. It is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing Lake District holiday.

Holly Bank Cottage is open all year, welcomes children. Dogs also welcome by arrangement and payment of small fee.   This is a non smoking establishment.

Downstairs at Holly Bank Cottage is exceptionally comfortable and beautifully appointed, with full central heating and all modern conveniences. The accommodation is all on ground floor level and is suitable for up to six people (maximum) plus cot,

The large, comfortable lounge has a picture window with superb panoramic views of the fells from Skiddaw, which is directly opposite across Bassenthwaite Lake, to the Helvellyn range. Two comfortable settees and two cosy armchairs provide plenty of room to relax in front of the open fire.  A TV, video and DVD player are provided for your entertainment as well as a selection of books, games and jigsaws for all the family.

The attractive kitchen at Holly Bank Cottage is well equipped, with an electric oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and an extending table to seat 6. In addition, the garage houses a freezer, a washing machine and tumble dryer, while a small utility room next to the kitchen is the ideal place for drying out those wet coats and walking boots.

The outstanding feature of the upstairs accommodation at Holly Bank Cottage is undoubtedly the view. The enormous picture windows in the lounge and front bedroom face directly towards Skiddaw and Latrigg, with Blencathra just visible behind. On a clear day, the view stretches for miles towards the South, over the Dodds, to the top of Helvelyn.
