Urangan, Hervey Bay is renowned for its long sweeping beaches and safe, calm
waters, sheltered by World Heritage Listed Fraser Island. The area is
also famous for its whale watching and during their annual migration,
the magnificent humpback whales rest in the Bay with their calves. July
to November. A variety of fishing is provided in the bay, out on the
reef, in the Great Sandy Straits, and ocean fishing on the continental
shelf. There are activities and tours for all the family.
