Guests staying at Nettlecombe Farm can fish free of charge, and the lakes are open to the public at a daily charge.
There is ample car parking next to the lakes and toilet facilities are available. The lakes are open all year round from dawn to dusk.
These man made but now wholly naturalised lakes cover an area of 1.5 acres and are well-stocked with carp, roach and tench of various sizes. The largest recorded fish caught from these lakes was a 20lb carp caught by a 12 year old boy in 2000. Can you better this?
As a matter of interest we have seen many different types of bait used over the years including sweet corn, bread, luncheon meat, and dog biscuits.
We do not have many rules and regulations but do require that you please: use only barb-less hooks, use landing nets if possible, do not use keep nets and obtain a license from the Post Office.
