The East Gippsland Historical Society in Bairnsdale, Victoria, was established in 1964, and is dedicated to preserving and displaying local artifacts relating to our town and surrounding districks. The Historical Museum is a volunteer run museum that falls under The East Gippsland Historical Society, and features a library, collections of lamps, lighting, musical instruments, gramaphones, war memorabilia, early settler tools, cameras and many more interesting exhibits. The East Gippsland Historical Society also has an extensive range of books relating to gold mining, farming, people and other interesting memorabilia that dates back to early settlements.
