The Brightlingsea Museum in Brightlingsea, Essex promoted and preserves the history of the town from it's people to it's industries from Roman times to present day. Come view the fascinating displays of artefacts from a local Roman settlement, the Oyster industry and stowboating, ship and boat building, Brightlingsea in the World Wars, the railway line to Wivenhoe and Brightlingsea's role as a Limb of the Cinque Port of Sandwich. The Brightlingsea Museum also holds a variety of events annually, children's activities and programmes and is open from Easter to the last weekend in September. They also provide resources for research and feature a wide selection of photographs, artefacts and memorabilia.
