The Town of Stratford is located immediately to the southeast of the City of Charlottetown, the provincial capital and largest
municipality in Prince Edward Island. The Stratford area was founded in the 1750's when several Acadian families settled in the Bunbury area, and following acceptance of the Royal Commission on the Land's recommendations by the Provincial Government, the Town of Stratford was created on April 1, 1995.
