The owner of the Scademia is Captain Charlie Anonsen. He started his tour boat operation twenty-five years ago when he recognized the great tourism potential of St. John's and its magnificent sheltered Harbour. A boat tour was a natural because it would offer a close-up encounter with marine life, as well as a guided tour of his historic city from the perspective of the majestic St. John's Harbour. Anonsen had sailed into harbours all over the Americas and Europe on another schooner, the Norma and Gladys, and he recognized the unique potential of his own home port. Sailing into St. John's from the sea was truly a sight to behold.
