Welcome to the Oystercatcher Lodge in Shelley Point on the West Coast of South Africa.

This Western Cape located Oystercatcher Lodge situated in a secure and quiet position, directly on the water's edge, have breathtaking sea views from the bedroom - sunrise and sunset from the private veranda and offer a whales, dolphins and bird watchers paradise. A 9 hole Golf course, Country Club and Health Spa within walking distance.

The lodge offers all guests sea-facing en suite Suites, with fabulous views of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean in Shelley Point. Bedrooms are spacious and stylish, with a Honeymoon Suite and a Suite specifically designed for Wheel Chair Friendly Disabled guests and stunning ocean views.

All Suites have private balconies, extra length beds and overhead fans. The finest cotton percale linen has been selected, and each room is fitted with heated towel rails and under-floor heating.

Within walking distance of the lodge, is a 9 hole Golf Course as well as the Shelley Point Country Club and Health Spa. The Country Club has an à la carte Restaurant as well as a Coffee Shop.

The lodge is perfectly positioned for Western Cape Whale Watching of the Humpback Whales and the Southern Right Whales, often in the company of dusky dolphins. Not far away is the Berg River where you will find more than 190 bird species and look out for the pink flamingos too. Another stop for bird enthusiasts is the beautiful West Coast National Park.

Although only 170 kilometres from Cape Town, Shelley Point enjoys a considerably warmer winter and a lower rainfall, making it an ideal location to visit all year round.

Excursions to charming and picturesque little villages such as Paternoster, Elands Bay, Lamberts Bay and Langebaan are an excellent way to engage with the locals of the West Coast, and appreciate their culture and food.

Go back in time, and join a tour of the internationally renowned, palaeontological diggings at the West Coast Fossil Park.

A visit to the West Coast National Park and the Roche Pan Reserve will not easily be forgotten, as they boast a wide and rich variety of fynbos and birds.

The Vasco Da Gama Nautical Museum is located at the Cape Dutch entrance to Shelley Point and is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Portuguese seafarers that discovered and navigated these waters.

The West Coast is probably best known for its seasonal carpets of wild flowers, which form a kaleidoscope from the coast to the mountains from late July to September.
