Olderfleet Castle

Olderfleet Castle in Larne, County Antrim, United Kingdom | Attraction | Castle

Olderfleet Castle in Larne, Northern Ireland lies in the harbour area and is said to have been built by the Scottish Bisset family in the 13th century. Rebuilt in 1612 with no domestic features, it is believed it was built as a fortified warehouse and watchtower, and was one of the three Castles that guarded the harbour of Larne in Larne Lough. Olderfleet Castle is a not very spectacular Attraction and ruin in an industrial area, but well worth a visit for it's historical value.
