Visitors are encouraged to board the restored 1888 Oyster Sloop Priscilla, a vessel considered to be a National Historic Landmark, for a sail around the bay. The Long Island Maritime Museum is dedicated to researching and preserving the rich nautical heritage and the role played by Long Island in the national maritime story. The Long Island Maritime Museum, has 9 historic buildings set on fourteen acres, and whether your interest is boat building, shipwrecks, shellfish harvesting or recreational, visitors will find it all here under our roofs, and in the galleries.
