The County Museum of Halland consists of two departments; the Museums in Varberg and Halmstad together with Environmental Culture Conservation Unit.
The Museums collect and exhibit objects and documents from the County of Halland while the Environmental Culture Conservation Unit is responsible for, amongst other things, archeaological excavations and giving advice on the renovation of older buildings.
Within the Institution there is a curator who also take assignments from the general public.

Exhibitions
Varberg"s Museum is a cultural-historical Museum with continuous exhibitions dealing with agrarian history.
In the Museum one can see The Bocksten"s Find (Bocksten"s Man) - human remains found in a peat bog near Varberg that has the best preserved medieval clothing found in the western world. During the year there are temporary exhibitions with varying themes.
