Hotel Porin

Hotel Porin in Makarska, Split-Dalmatia, Croatia | Hotel

At the Makarska Marineta (small coast), at the place where two stone Dalmatian houses were located up to the 19th century, a palace of the Family Kacic-Peko was constructed in the Romantic forms of a fortified castle.
It has trifore of the Renaissance fence and an outer semi-circular stair-case with a small fountain and a park. It was built on the model of a rural fortified palace, built with bricks, mortar and cement.
Since the beginning of the last century, there was a library situated inside, and in 1916 even the Library of the Town of Makarska.
After it became private possession, in the year 2002, a thorough reconstruction and the adaptation of the palace was carried out, and the palace became a representative model of one of the most beautiful and the oldest buildings in the area of the Town of Makarska.
The palace retained its original form and beauty and was pronounced the cultural monument. Within the said palace there is a modern and comfortable Hotel that fascinates with its comfort, inner and outer beauty that does not leave you indifferent.
The Hotel is situated 20 meters from the sea from the south side and from the north side it faces the main square and the old town centre. On the both sides of the Hotel there are two sunny spacious terraces with a big terrace on the top of the building where you can enjoy the view of the islands and the mountain Biokovo.
