Federal Furnace School is a kindergarten through grade five elementary School falling under the auspices of Plymouth Public Schools in Plymouth, MA, in the United States. Our current enrollment is 485 students, with class sizes ranging from 18 to 26 students.

Federal Furnace School is a one floor facility that is fully accessible. In addition to our twenty-four classrooms, we have specialty rooms such as an Art Room, Music Room, Gymnasium, Cafeteria, and Library/Media Center.

For children in grades 1-5, the School day begins at 9:00 A.M. and ends at 3:20 P.M.

Kindergarten is a half-day program. The morning session runs from 9:00-11:30, and the afternoon session runs from 12:45-3:15. At mid-year, the children switch sessions.

In addition to the ten morning and afternoon School buses that service Federal Furnace School, we have two for one session and three for the other session mid-day kindergarten buses that drop off the morning children and pick up the afternoon children. Bus routes and times are published in the local newspaper just prior to the start of the School year. During the year, please call us for information.

Federal Furnace School,is one of the eight elementary Schools of Plymouth, MA. We proudly serve approximately 500 students with a staff of approximately 80. With all of our programs (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health Education, Music, Art, Physical Education) based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, our lessons reflect current practices and methodologies. We offer a full range of services, including special education, Title One, and a program for children with autism. Federal Furnace School has a full time School psychologist, a full time consulting teacher of reading, 2 speech and language therapists, a library/media specialist, and a nurse educator who is supported by additional nursing staff as needs warrant. An educational technology specialist and a health education teacher provide support on an itinerant basis On an as needed basis, Federal Furnace School uses the services of an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, an assistive technology specialist, and vision and hearing specialists.
