Eagle Heights Bed & Breakfast

Eagle Heights Bed & Breakfast in Ketchikan, Ketchikan Gateway Borough, United States | Bed and Breakfast

Welcome to Eagle Heights Bed and Breakfast in Ketchikan, Alaska. This classic home was built in 1940 and is located in the very center of town which is equal walking distance to the West End or Downtown Ketchikan. Every room of the Bed & Breakfast has a view of the Tongass Narrows and all rooms have private entries and baths.
We came up with the name Eagle Heights Bed & Breakfast due to the incredible concentration of Bald Eagles in the immediate vicinity, as the home is located on a mountainside directly above Alaska's Inside Passage. Fishing boats attract dozens of eagles vying for some tidbits. They dive, soar, play and eat all day long, so, for you photographers and eagle watchers, this is the place to stay. Prime eagle viewing is in June and July.
Another attraction of Eagle Heights is the Yukon Room, our own family museum, filled with artifacts and memorabilia from the Gold Rush Days, as our ancestors had mining claims in Dawson City and Ruby, Alaska. Great Grandpa Vernon Ferry and family ran the famous Indian River Roadhouse in the Yukon. You will see dozens of family photos of "sourdoughs" and everyday life in turn of the century Alaska. Also on display are Native baskets, totem poles, old Alaskan books, and items from early cannery life in Ketchikan, a must for the Alaska history buff.
