Connecticut Historical Society in Hartford, Connecticut, was established in 1825 as a non profit Historical Society that also makes a library, Museum and the Edgar F. Waterman Research Center, all funded by private contributions and also open to the public. Collections at the Historical Society include over 4 million manuscripts, artifacts, books, graphics and many other historical materials. The aim of the Connecticut Historical Society is to encourage and inspire an interest in history by offering exhibitions, programs, workshops and collections relating to Connecticut past, present and future. We also offer interesting Tours of the Museum, educational programs, after-school programs and more.
