Casino Zug, Zug, Zug, Switzerland

Plays have been performed at this lakeside Casino, the Casino Zug, since 1909, located in Zug. The Casino hosts many other events and celebrations too.

Two well-known Zug architects, Dagobert Keiser and Richard Bracher, designed the older part of the building, which reflects the baroque style of the old town nearby.

The Casino Theatre presented plays performed by a very active Theatre group, who, as far back as 1809, organised themselves into the Theatre and Music Company Zug (TMGZ) achieving great success.

In 1979-81 the new Theatre was built, again designed by two Zug architects, Hans-Peter Ammann and Peter Baumann. The stage area has been built into the hill side of the site, so that Theatre-goers standing in the foyer can enjoy the view of the changing light effects over Lake Zug.
