Broughton Manor Bed and Breakfast

Broughton Manor Bed and Breakfast in Port McNeill, Vancouver Island, Canada | Bed and Breakfast

Originally built in Port Moody (near Vancouver, British Columbia), Broughton Manor Bed and Breakfast was transported in the 1950s by barge up the inside passage of Vancouver Island to its current location in Port McNeill, British Columbia, Canada. Broughton Manor Bed and Breakfast is a three storey manor resting snugly along the shoreline, protected from the full force of the west coast environment, yet providing an easy window into the natural richness of this unique area.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted by your hosts Margret and Ivar, who have been living on Northern Vancouver Island for over 25 years. Margret and Ivar offer a wealth of knowledge, insight and reflection on living in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the world.
Inside Broughton Manor Bed and Breakfast you will find tasteful interior designs, intriguing architecture, oak hardwood floors, a sunken living room, a family-size dining area and comfortable bed-rooms. Outside you have access to a balcony, a garden, ample parking and the beach.
You don't have to go far to experience what mother nature intended we should all savour every once in a while. From the comfort of the Manor's solarium you can witness first hand a drama that unfolds every day at the crack of dawn. Raven sings to her children as she welcomes the beginning of another day. Kingfisher noisely announces to all that the fishing is good and it is indeed great to be alive. Crane tries to convince Seal that the bounties are even greater over at the next point and Eagle soars gracefully above trying to find the quintessential air current flowing in over the Pacific. Nature was intended for the soul and nature is what you experience in this corner of the world.
A five minute stroll down a peaceful road, then along a quaint sea-wall, takes you to the ferry boat that quickly places you within unique cultures that have withstood the changes of time. The boat ride is an adventure in itself. Old friends pay homage to lasting relationships, new friends are warmly welcomed into the community, and on the ocean each species of salmon shares with you its own particular nautical dance as it skims the surface in preparation for its journey back home.
Great restaurants, shopping, amenities, and a museum housed in a charming log cabin in Port McNeill, British Columbia, are only a 10 minute walk away.
The wharf and marina, which moors boats of every kind, are even closer.
Whale-watching, grizzly-bear observations, kayaking, fly-fishing, caving, golfing, hiking, alpine meadows, beachcombing and the Pacific Ocean. These are only some of the many adventures that await you in the surrounding areas.
After a long day of play, relaxation and growth the Manor offers a place to come home to. Wind down at the end of your day with a tune at the Manor's piano. Or, if you prefer, walk down to the beach, build a roaring fire, gaze at the distant Cascade mountain range to the north, and watch the sunset over the majestic sky to the west. Or simply enjoy the ocean view from the Manor as you watch cruise ships gracefully passing through Broughton Straight.
