Alpenhotel Edelweiss

Alpenhotel Edelweiss in Achensee, Tyrol, Austria | Hotel

The origin of the Hotel can be led back to when the family Schwaiger decided to modify their farm to a pension. Because the pension had many guests in 1960 the decision was made to build the Hotel. In 1961 when the Hotel was completed, the Hotel had only 1 floor. In the next year 2 floors were built upon the 1st floor.
In 1972 the family Schwaiger felt that there was a demand for a dining room and in 1972 they built the current dining room. In the next few years there were some modifications until the Hotel was finished in 1979.
In the meantime the Hotel was still property of the family Schwaiger. It was founded by Alois Schwaiger sr. and Alois Schwaiger jr. took it over in 1979. In 1998 Alois Schwaiger jr. passed away after a short heavy period of sickness. Then Melanie Schwaiger took it over, the oldest of the two children of Alois Schwaiger jr.
After Melanie led the Hotel some years, she decided to hand over the Hotel to the family Ogertschnig on the 1st of January 2005. As you can see the Hotel has a rich history and is typical Tyrolian. You can find the Tyrolian ambiance in our personnel, who are very pleased to help you, but also in the Hotel itself. You can book in our Hotel via intermediairies, but direct booking is preferred. When you book direct we can offer you the Edelweiss-package which can be found under "prices". We will do our best to make your stay in our Hotel an unforgettable experience.
