Alkoomie Station is a cattle station and luxury mountain retreat just 30 minutes from the town of Cooktown, Queensland, Australia and offers a real Aussie experience. The road to the homestead is 4WD only and you can bring yours, or staff will fetch you in Cooktown, and once here there are breathtaking views that never end across the Endeavour River valley right to the ocean. Alkoomie Station offers accommodation in the two storey homestead for 8-12 guests or you can camp out in the furnished, self contained, all weather tents. Come work alongside the cattle dogs and assist the the cattle round up, learn and watch as you go, it's a fascinating experience, they also have horse riding, a 4-hole golf course, bush walks, barbecue dinners at the campfire and so much more, come stay in paradise, or as they call it, heaven on earth.
