Welcome to The Abbey Restaurant.   You'll find The Abbey Restaurant perched high above the harbour in Penzance, United Kingdom's most south westerly town.  The Abbey Restaurant, a Michelin starred restaurant in Penzance, first came to the attention of discerning diners in the hands of Ben Tunnicliffe, but has been reborn again with great flair and originality under the direction of Michael Riemenschneider.

Renowned for his inventive and stylish cooking,  Michael's painstaking attention to detail and exacting standards ensure his food excels at every level. Reviews have been more than favourable "You can expect complex dishes that surprise and delight, using the finest ingredients. The painstaking production of each dish is evident as is the attention to detail."

At The Abbey Restaurant, Michael’s reputation has enabled him to recruit a team of stars in their own right.  Maitre d’Luke Richardson has come from the Lygon Arms and the acclaimed Trinity Restaurant in London.  Pastry chef Nicole Riechert worked with Michael at the three Michelin Star Restaurant “Vendome” in Cologne, and Sommelier Romaine Petitcolin was at Bernard Loiseau’s world renowned Côte d’Or in Saulieu, Burgundy.

The menu at The Abbey Restaurant will be a tour de force of choice and interest.  As well as A La Carte, the team will offer a “Menu Surprise”. The surprise?  Michael himself does not know what he will be cooking until Luke has ascertained individual likes and dislikes and reported back.
