St. John
Two thirds of St. John is a U.S. National Park. That is 22 square miles that are explored but unspoiled. There are many beautiful beaches to visit. The introductions of the friendly mongoose can lead you through the island and down many a trail.

This mountainous region lead upward to breath taking views of the most photogenic vistas on the planet, many of which have been highlighted in magazines including National Geographic. St. John Virgin Islands National Park Visitor Center offers an introduction to the park, covers the land and 5,650 acres of submerged land around the island. Take a five-hour guided hike of Reef Bay Valley where you can see petroglyphs (rock carvings) and visit the ruins of a sugar mill, all provided by the Park Services. Or you can trek on your own. Inquire at the Visitor's Center for maps and schedules of interpreted trail hikes.

Annaberg
Here you'll find the restored sugar mill and slave housing complex.
Cathrineberg
This mill ruin is particularly beautiful.

Island Hopping
The most popular trip is the full day excursion to Jost Van Dyke. There are many islands to explore. Taking a boat to visit our neighbors by sea is the best way to appreciate them. There are serveral different excursions to enjoy.

Beaches
Hawksnest is St. John's popular beach. Hawksnest's crystal blue water, soft white sand, and excellent snorkeling are the main attraction. Two gazebos are available for parties, barbecues, or family events. Changing rooms and full bathroom facilities are on site for convience. Gibney The "local hang-out" is a private beach about a mile and a half from Cruz Bay. Gibney is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon and forget all your troubles. Caneel Bay one the finest resorts of the Caribbean, it boasts several of its own terrific beaches that are available to the public.
Cinnamon Bay is a North Shore Beach with access to Watersports like sailing, windsurfing and kayaking.

St. John Fishing
Off shore light tackle fishing can be done in half or full day. Pick a charter boats and cast away.

Snorkeling
The diversity of sea life and corals on St. John are amazing. Full and half day snorkel trips are available aboard motor and sail vessels.

Hiking
With the National Park and many beaches to explore, there is always a new place to go and explore on St. John. Inquire at the Visitor's Center for maps and schedules of interpreted trail hikes.

Shopping
Like to shop in the duty free shops. St. John is a shopper's paradise. Jewelry, gift shops with imported goods and local crafts located in downtown Cruz Bay.

Night Life
There are numerous hopping bars and restaurants located in Cruz Bay, as well as a few in the East end's Coral Bay. Dress casual for the bar hopping / mingle with warm friendly islanders making the night as bright as the sun filled days. One can usually find live local music on any given evening.
