Taking classes is an excellent way to get into kayaking. Our Basic Classes (Introduction to Sea Kayaking, and Beach Entry & Exit) gives you the necessary skills to begin exploring sea kayaking. Once you have learned these skills you need to keep practicing to gain knowledge and experience. These components -- skills, knowledge, and experience -- together with common sense, will make you an excellent kayaker.

If you can take the time, take Friday off and visit some of the northern coastal towns like Mendocino, Albion, etc. They're quaint, the scenery along the coast is gorgeous (like Big Sur), and there are some great B&B's.

As you meander toward the Mendocino Coast, you'll travel through sprawling wine country vineyards, wide-open meadows and into towering majestic redwood forests. Soon you'll come upon spectacular ocean views and charming Victorian Villages that dot the scenic Mendocino Coastline of Northern California.
