The Costa Brava is a coastal region of northeastern Catalonia, Spain, in the comarques of Alt Emporda, Baix Emporda and La Selva, in the province of Girona. Costa is the Catalan and Spanish word for 'coast', and Brava means 'rugged' or 'wild'. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes, 60km northeast of Barcelona, to the French border.

Calella is one of the three resort towns close to the local market town of Palafrugell. The others are Tamariu and Llafranc. Calella is the largest of them. The village is completely charming and does not die in winter. There are little boats moored in the harbour, and a number of rather small and therefore over-crowded beaches. Restaurants abound, not necessarily high gastronomy, but completely acceptable with wonderful views.

The Costa Mesa Historical Society in Costa Mesa, California, was established in 1966 and this not for profit museum is home to an amazing collection of 70 000 items dating back to pre-historic times right up to the present day. A library and archive materials are available to organizations and researchers, and we also have a well stocked gift shop. Our historical society oversees the beautifully restored Diego Sepulveda Adobe located in Estancia Park, and this tourist attraction dates back to an unknown time and past. Interesting and informative guided tours of our museum and Diego Sepulveda Adobe are conducted by members of the historical society. The Costa Mesa Historical Society is a volunteer-run society dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of our town.
