  • Dundrum Castle

    Dundrum Castle in Dundrum, Ireland is a historical site and key castle located above the town, built in the beginning of the 13th century by John de Courcy after his invasion of Ulster. With fine views overlooking Dundrum Bay and the Mourne mountains, the castle stands majestic on a rocky hill and is now a state care historic monument. Dundrum Castle is an important example of Norman architecture, complete with stone curtain and is a wonderful attraction to visit for tourists and schoolchildren, and even the subject of an archaeological television programme.


  • Murlough National Nature Reserve

    Murlough National Nature Reserve in Dundrum, County Down, Ireland is a 6000 year old sand dune system with breathtaking dune landscape, with a network of paths and boardwalks through the dunes, woodland and heath, and is owned by the National Trust. The area is excellent for walking and bird life and has one of the finest beaches in the county, plus there are over 600 species of butterflies and moths here, and home to wintering wildfowl and waders. Murlough National Nature Reserve offers guided nature walks and volunteer events with school groups are welcome, and the self guided nature trail include a leaflet explaining what can be seen at stopping point. There are BBQ friendly picnic tables, toilets, as well as family fun events in summer and a children's nature trail quiz, come explore this beautiful area and diverse landscape.


  • Airfield Farm

    Airfield Farm is a charitable organisation in Dundrum, County Down, Ireland and was established by the Overend family in 1974 for educational and recreational purposes, plus the farm boasts beautiful gardens and a cafe and offers a heritage experience. Come learn all about food, farming, gardens, growing, history and heritage in a natural and relaxed environment as they say, and enjoy guided tours of the Overend family home some of which cover the house, garage, gardens and farm, and the life and times of this Victorian family. Visit the farmyard at Airfield Farm which is a working farm with milking Jersey herd and laying hens and join them for the daily milking of the Jersey cows. The restaurant is where you taste Airfield Farm on a plate with some of the produce from the farm for a farm to fork experience, there's also a market shop, visitors centre, children's play area, exquisite gardens, a vineyard and so much more, come for a memorable visit.
