Whitstable Yacht Club

Whitstable Yacht Club in Whitstable, Kent, United Kingdom | Yacht Club

Whitstable Yacht Club is one of the oldest and largest sailing clubs in England. The Club is situated on the north coast of Kent where the Thames Estuary meets the North Sea. Whitstable Yacht Club offers sailing in sheltered waters at all times of the tide for catamarans, dinghies, and windsurfers with yachts moored in a nearby drying out marina.
Whitstable Yacht Club Windsurfing & Sailing School
The school, established in 1996 by former Commodore Ian Wild, runs courses open to non-members and any club members wishing to hone their skills.
It was set up to promote windsurfing and sailing and as a way of introducing people to one of the country's top clubs. It quickly developed a reputation for providing the best tuition and equipment possible in a club environment. Many former pupils are now members. It is one of the smallest Royal Yachting Association Training Centres and almost unique in that it operates throughout the season within a traditional Yacht Club.
All the instructors and assistants are experienced sailors from within the club and all hold appropriate RYA qualifications. All have a passion for sailing. A recent RYA inspection described it as "A very well run and well organised centre".
