Webers Downtowner

Webers Downtowner in Barrie, Simcoe County, Canada | Steakhouse

Webers Downtowner Restaurants was established on July 11th 1963 with a focus on providing the best hamburger money can buy and until this day people will attest to this. Paul Weber Sr. was the visionary that saw a need for a hamburger stand midway to Muskoka and proved right.

The success and reputation of Mr. Weber's little hamburger stand is best explained in Ann Hardy's book, "Where to Eat in Canada" - "..... high energy staff, rock and roll music, quick service and good food even when line-ups are long, railway cars for storage, colorful picnic tables, a quiet restful picnic area, clean washrooms, lots of parking......"

Webers continues to be the landmark for “Where to Eat” on the route to Ontario cottage country.

By the late 80’s Paul Weber Sr. had retired, Paul Weber Jr. had purchased the business from his father and in 1989 the Webers Downtowner concept was born in Barrie, Ontario. In 1995, the second Webers Downtowner was opened just up the highway in Orillia.
