The Purple Hen Country Lodge is set in ten acres of avocado orchards, gardens, woodland and native bush close to the beautiful Kaimai range in Northland, New Zealand, of hills and Katikati township - famous for it's murals.

The Purple Hen Country Lodge provides top quality hostel accommodation for the independent traveller touring the Bay of Plenty and Katikati surrounds in Northland or passing through on State Highway 2.

'Purple Hen' is also suitable for groups, retreats and conferences up to 24 people. You can choose to stay in our purpose built comfortable bunk rooms or treat yourself and take a luxury room, each with en suite bathroom, in the main house. You will enjoy our friendly hospitality and the peace and tranquility of the location.
