The Miners Arms

The Miners Arms in Gwynedd, Gwynedd, United Kingdom | Tavern

The Miners Arms is our cosy Tavern in Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom, traditionally decorated with a fully licensed bar and toasty fireplace. Overlooking the whole Victorian Village, the beer garden at The Miners Arms offers spectacular views of the slate landscape and mountains surrounding Llechwedd in Gwynedd, Wales. On sunny days it?s the ideal place to relax with a drink and watch the world go by. On rainy days take a seat beside the roaring fire, dry off and enjoy a traditional miners? lunch of Lobsgows or warm yourself with a cup of tea and a tasty slice of bara brith.
The local dish lobsgows (pronounced 'lobscouse') served at The Miners Arms comes from ?labskaus?, a traditional speciality of the sea-faring town of Hamburg. After the great fire of 1842 in Hamburg, Blaenau Ffestiniog was called upon to provide slates for the rebuilding of the city. The slates were shipped from Porthmadog and as construction lasted into 1865 it meant strong links were created between the 2 communities with the tradition of ?labskaus? or ?lobsgows? being passed on.
Open from March to September, The Miners Arms is available for hire throughout the year.
