The mission of Hatherly Elementary School, Scituate, is to promote serious learning in a supportive and caring environment. This learning results in the development and mastery of communication and literacy skills which allow students to express their thoughts and share the thoughts of others. Our math curriculum emphasizes not only computational skills but also the ability to apply mathematical reasoning to problem solving situations. Through a comprehensive Science and Social Science curriculum, Hatherly students are encouraged to investigate and understand their physical and social environment. Character education encourages our students to be contributing and constructive members of their community, possessing the values and conflict resolution skills required by our global society.
