The Gananoque Inn and Spa in Gananoque, Leeds and Grenville, Canada | Hotel | Inn | Spa

The historic Ganaoque Inn and Spa in Gananoque, Canada, is nestled on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in a small town setting in the heart of the world famous Thousand Islands and just a 20
minute drive from the Fort Henry and Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discerning travelers have found an idyllic setting and warm hospitality at The Gananoque Inn and Spa since 1896.

The Gananoque Inn and Spa occupies what was originally the Gananoque Carriage Works, a business founded in the 1870s by George and Charles Taylor. A child's cutter built on the premises, is on display in the Inn lobby. In 1885, the company was purchased by George Burrows of the Standard Wagon Company of CincInnati. By 1894, the
operation had been moved to Brockville, Ontario.

The picturesque location of the former Gananoque Carriage Works in Gananoque, the substantial character of the building, and its location in the midst of the most charming part of the Thousand Islands suggested the idea of converting the property into a summer Hotel. The Gananoque Inn and Spa was opened in June of 1896 and remained under the ownership of the Brockville Carriage Company until March 1906 when Archibald Welsh of Montreal became the first private owner of the Inn.

In summer, the grounds of The Gananoque Inn and Spa are resplendent with flowers, due to the addition of numerous gardens, flower boxes and hanging baskets. In fall and winter, the lobby fireplace glows invitingly. Whatever the season, the Innkeepers and their enthusiastic staff pride themselves in making guests feel very special providing
the many small luxuries and services that make a visit to the historic Gananoque Inn and Spa unique.
