This community consists of individual people who live, work and play in or near a bayside anywhere in the world. Within this community are also establishments that do business in or near a bayside or provide a service within this area.

The aim of Baysider.com is to unite all the people within its community to grow and promote any commercial enterprise, any service, any product or any event for that matter which is located on or identified with a bay side. Anywhere in the world!

In so doing, our aim through Baysider.com is to provide a valuable service to all our members, contributors and participants, while creating a unique environment that unites Baysiders from all walks of life.

The History of Baysider.com

The idea and vision of Baysider.com was started many years ago by the owner of an eating establishment on the beautiful Fish Hoek beach in the Western Cape, South Africa - The Bayside.

As the owner sat at a window-side table on a typical glorious day, sipping on some of the Cape's finest wine and overlooking one of the most spectacular bays on the Peninsula, he had a dream. He wanted to make the most of his growing local, national and international customers and wanted these customers to be able to increase the benefits of visiting any one of his three establishments by recording their visits and sharing their experiences with other people, family and friends, whether they were visiting from around the corner or from afar. He also wanted to share this inspiration with other like-minded people around the world, and thus the vision that is now Baysider.com was born.

He knew that the heart and soul of Baysider.com would be its members and contributors, and its visitors relishing in all that was available on some of the world's most celebrated locations, bay sides. If believing that a place could be created where people could share every experience that encapsulates that which tantalises every human sense when one visits bay sides, then he knew too that this dream could surely be a reality.

Why would one not want to share such an experience and what better place to do it than at a site dedicated to bays and all they encompass?

Not only would like-minded people be able to interact with one another, but others around the world could also join and enjoy their celebrations.

This raised the important question of who should join this exhibition and after some careful thought of why this space would be created the answer was simple. Any business, any service, any product, any event which is located on and identified with a bay side anywhere in the world should join Baysider.com. The premises or outlets of any of the businesses should be at the waterside or within clear, unobstructed view of it. This would be an absolute requirement in order to keep the geographical integrity and identity of the site beyond dispute.
Restaurants, hotels, guesthouses, shopping malls, shops, theatres, sporting event organisers, beach and sea related events, surfing, swimming, sailing and lifesaving clubs could all derive benefits from Baysider.com And let's not forget the visitors sharing their countless experiences!

As this dream was moulded into reality, Baysider.com started to grow and grow, thus not only achieving its goal but surpassing its original intentions and becoming a formidable representation of some of the most magnificent sites around the world!

It is this dream, vision and intention that continues to be the driving force behind Baysider.com and has truly made it into a place of complete celebration.
