Mexico is a diverse country divided into 31 states lying just south of the USA. It has a rich historical heritage, from Spanish colonial towns to ancient relics of the Maya, Olmeca and Azteca cultures. Mexico has a feast of stunning vistas, from desert landscapes to snow-capped volcanoes and unique wildlife. The cities are cosmopolitan and beach resorts draw people from all over the world. The Mexicans themselves are social by nature and the restaurants, bars, and nightclubs reflect that. Mexico is surrounded by 4 coasts: the Sea of Cortes, the Pacific Ocean, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. This promises the visitor a variety of coastal destinations, from quiet beaches where gentle breezes caress golden sand and lapping waves, to legendary pounding surf thrashing against black volcanic rock; from misty and mystical jungles to high, sheer cliffs.
