Qikiqtaaluk is the traditional Inuktitut name for Baffin Island; though Qikiqtaaluk Region is the most commonly-used name in official contexts, several notable public bodies, including Statistics Canada and Nunavut Tourism[2] prefer the term Baffin Region.
