The small waterfront community of Bowser is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island overlooking Georgia Strait. Bowser is a favourite stop for clam and shellfish diggers. Bowser is part of Lighthouse Country, a stretch of Highway 19A that runs along the oceanside from Qualicum Beach to Fanny Bay across from Denman and Hornby Islands.

The Comox Valley (which includes the main communities of Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland as well as Fanny Bay, Union Bay, Royston, Merville, Mt. Washington, Black Creek and Saratoga Beach, extends from Mud Bay in the south to Oyster River in the north. From Buckley Bay, at the south end of the Comox Valley, a short ferry ride will take you to Denman Island and beyond it to Hornby Island.

Heriot Bay is the picturesque hub of the east side of Quadra Island, facing the dramatic views of the mainland coast. It is the port of departure for the regualr ferry service to Cortes Island.
