The beaches at Langland, Caswell and Limeslade are used by swimmers and tourists with children, whereas Swansea Bay tends to attract water-sport enthusiasts.

The beach is only a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Mumbles and offers a good range of facilities. When large swells are running up the Bristol Channel, breaks such as Crab Island, The Sand Bar, Middle Reef and Lefts start to work, attracting surfers from far and wide. If you are lucky you may observe a surfing competition, these are often held here when conditions prevail.

There is a beach shop situated on the promenade. There are two car parks behind the beach, both Pay & Display. Toilet Facilities in the main car park.

The road leading down to Langland Bay is very steep and it is a cul-de-sac, so parking could be a problem in the high season.
The coastal path runs through the cafe area and you have a choice of heading East around the Mumbles headland via Limeslade Bay and Bracelet Bay to Mumbles Pier, or, West via Langland Bay and round Newton Cliff to Caswell Bay.
