Taurito and it's own beach, Playa Taurito resemble a mini Puerto Rico. The same dramatic effect of hotels carved into cliffs is here too, but on a much lesser scale. Taurito and it's beach offer an ideal quiet resort base, still within easy reach of the many catamaran, fishing, diving and watersports/fun rides available in nearby Puerto Rico. In fact it's location is ideal for accessing Puerto de Mogan too as it sits between these two contrasting resorts, and indeed is a mix of both - quiet, but distinctly a purpose built Gran Canaria resort. Taurito and it's beach is a small, quiet and rather calm Gran Canaria resort - so if you're looking for good resort facilities, but less crowds and a little less noise and bustle than neighbouring Puerto Rico, then Taurito is a good choice.

Playa Taurito beach is nicely sheltered - good for safe bathing and for families. The beach is not the most attractive of manmade beaches on Gran Canaria - the sand is quite dark. They've got round this though in Taurito by constructing a large swimming pool complex between the hotels that stretch up the cliffs both side of the bay. You have to pay to use it - it's a public pool, but it's below ten euros, and guaranteed swimming pool fun for all the family. Taurito Gran Canaria makes a good quiet holiday resort base for families, couples and generally those looking for good resort facilities - supermarkets, restaurants, bars and so on - but with a quiet and calm vibe.
