Bourcefranc-le-Chapus is a commune in the Charente-Maritime department in the Poitou-Charentes region in western France.

This common-oriented activities oyster and tourism, was born from the merger of several villages and hamlets, the two main ones being Bourcefranc one hand and Le Chapus other. This village is growing the last common that you go through before reaching the island of Oleron.

The people of Fareham are called Bourcefranc and Bourcefrancaises, Chapus those of the Chapus and Chapusaises.
