Borgarnes is a small town located on a peninsula at the shore of Borgarfjordur in Iceland. It has a population of 2,000 (As of 2007). The town is located 60 km north of the capital Reykjavik and is connected to other places in Iceland through the second largest bridge in Iceland, Borgarfjardarbru. Borgarnes is the biggest town in the Borgarbyggo municipality.
The town of Stykkisholmur is situated in the western part of Iceland, to the north of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. With its 1240 inhabitants, it is a center of services and commerce for the area. Most of the people make their living from fishing and tourism. A ferry called Baldur goes over the Breidafjordur fjord to the West Fjords (Vestfirðir).
