Many artifacts and exhibits are irreplaceable, and it is our goal to preserve the artifacts which the museum has been entrusted with, for future generations. We also believe it is important to preserve the stories that link the artifacts to real people.

We have a resident blacksmith who gives demonstrations of iron working, and children get the opportunity of having a hands-on experience. The East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation is proud to own and operate the historic Long Beach Bar (Bug) Lighthouse. Displays inside the lighthouse include displays on the Greenport menhaden fishing industry, the oyster industry, lighthouse lenses, as well as a model ship of the USS Ohio. A visit to the East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation and the Long Beach Bar Lighthouse is well worth a visit.
