Lake Colac.
With a surface area of 1,820 hectares and a circumference of 33km Lake Colac provides a magnificent backdrop for the township of Colac and despite the drought conditions that have reduced its size, its wetlands support a magnificent array of wildlife and its shores offer visitors a picturesque picnic spot.

Colac Bird Sanctuary.
Home to over 20 species of waterbirds including a number of migratory species, the Sanctuary is located on The Esplanade at the lakeside end of Church Street. Some of wetland inhabitants include ducks, the purple swamp hen, the native water rat, frogs and of course the fish and invertebrates they feed upon.

The Colac Botanical Gardens.
Established 1868 and remodelled in 1910 by famous botanist William Guilfoyle- director of the Melbourne Botanic Gardens. Open daily 7.00am to 6.00pm, extended till 8.00pm during daylight saving.

Situated on the southern shore of Lake Colac, the tranquil surroundings of the gardens are a must see. They contain over a thousand specimens (more species than any other provincial garden in Victoria) many of which are old and rare. The gardens are a true representation of a colonial garden, complete with a rose arbour. Shady picnic grounds, barbeque facilities and a children?s playground offer the perfect place to relax and take in the surroundings.

Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre (COPACC).
Just minutes walk from Woorilla this complex caters to performing and visual arts, films and exhibitions it also has two cinemas and is home to the towns Historical Society.

Memorial Square.
From inside the front bedrooms you can see Memorial Square out the windows. It?s a focal point for the shopping strip on Murray Street and dedicated to those who served in World War One. A relaxing stroll through the attractive gardens takes in the memorial, fountain and rotunda.

There are plenty of great eateries in Colac offering everything from alfresco to fine dining. The majority are just minutes walk from Woorilla. Several of the townships oldest buildings have been restored to their former glory and reopened as restaurants to offer a unique dining experience.

Otway Estate Winery and Brewery - 10-30 Hoveys Road, Barongarook. Open 7 days 10am-5pm. Boasting a winery, brewery, gallery, function facility, café / restaurant and cellar door. The cellar door has a retail food outlet enabling the visitor to sample regional and homemade produce. While the café, lounge or deck provides a place to relax and enjoy a tasting plate teamed with your favourite beverage.

Colac and District Sunday Markets:
Colac Lions Club Market- Held on the third Sunday of each month in Memorial Square, 9am-2pm.

Birregurra Sunday Market in the Park- Held on the second Sunday of each month from December to April, 10am-2pm.
