The Winchester Tavern and Music Hall

The Winchester Tavern and Music Hall in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, United States | American Restaurant | Music | Live Entertainment

The Winchester Tavern & Music Hall, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, opened in December 2002 and has committed to bringing quality Music to an established Music fan base. There is no screaming into the mic here. There are seats for nearly everyone and there is plenty of room for your comfort. You will not be over crowded or uncomfortable.

This isn't easy, but when you get a living legend like Leon Russell calling saying he wants to play The Winchester AGAIN (which he did, three times!) because he loves the room and the audience, it makes it very worth while. To quote R.E.M.'s producer, Don Dixon, who played The Winchester Tavern & Music Hall, in September and loved it... "The Winchester is a great sounding, old school room." Dave Cousins from English Folk Rock legends The Strawbs said on stage during his sold out performance that "The Winchester is a magical place to play." Cool.

When there is an "off night," or no major show, The Winchester Tavern & Music Hall, is still open for your relaxed enjoyment with "OPEN MIC NIGHTS." Come in and talk Music with like minded individuals. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7pm to 2:30am. We are closed Sunday and Monday unless there is a show we can only schedule on a Monday of which we will then be open. We serve a full selection of mixed drinks and have 39 selections of beer available for every taste. There is NO wine available. Such are the oddities of certain liquor permits.

Every Tuesday & Thursday is

Acoustic Open Mic Night (if there is no show).

Open mic night is on the front Tavern Stage. It is mostly singer/songwriter types doing mixes of covers and originals but you never know what you are going to get. There are some amazing talent and some early beginners. We are now offering $2.00 Long Island Iced Teas during open mic nights!! December 11th, 2003, the night before their show, Brian Willoughby from The Strawbs came strolling in for a jam. You never know what is going to happen! Sometimes we have shows prior to Open Mic Night and then have Open Mic Night in the Music Hall right after the show. Cleveland is the city for live concerts.
