Since 1897 where the old and new channels meet, the 92-foot-high Warnemuende Lighthouse has spread its protective beacon. In more recent years, it has become a major tourist attraction as well, offering one of the best views of the sea, harbor and town and a small fee is charged to families, groups and individuals.

Built in 1897, the nearly 100-foot-high, brick Warnemuende Lighthouse offers a superb panoramic view of Warnemuende and the harbor entrance. At its base is a plaque honoring the former coast guard station that served as "the last house until Denmark.

The Warnemuende Lighthouse is a starting point for a walk on the Westmole, a strolling mile along the Baltic Sea.
