The mission of the Upcountry History Museum in Greenville, is to promote, present and preserve the history of Upcountry South Carolina through education, research and service.

A Walk Through Time - The Upcountry History Museum will provide a broad display of regional history of South Carolina from the early 1700s to the present. Visitors will encounter life-size figures ? among them a hog drover, a farm slave, a plantation wife, a mill owner and a mill worker ? who will discuss their role in the region?s development. Interactive media will immerse the visitor in a manner far different from other area Museums. Nearly full-size facades of vanished buildings house film, rear-projection video, sound, lights and hands-on experiences making a trip through the Upcountry History Museum a singular and uniquely rich experience.
