Shackford Head State Park is close to downtown Eastport, Maine, USA encompassing 90 acres on Moose Island overlooking Cobscook Bay and there are several miles of trails available as well as pocket beaches and protected coves, woods and a rocky headland. Activities including picnics and hiking and there's plenty of wildlife to see, it's a birders paradise, and swimming is allowed on the beaches except for Cony beach which is the demolition site of civil war ships. Shackford Head State Park trails are interconnected with easy walking and challenging trails providing some stunning views, and there are some wheelchair accessible trails near the parking area, visitors must be aware this park is not routinely staffed and tides of more than 20 feet can flow in very quickly.
