Welcome to the Sandbar Cafe, Praa Sands, United Kingdom. Sitting smack bang on the ½ mile of golden sands of Praa Sands beach, the Sandbar has to be in one of the best locations in Cornwall. The views are stunning especially at a high tide when you get the feeling that you are on board ship! Formerly known as the Welloe Rock Inn the property has undergone a massive transformation from tired “70’s disco pub / airport lounge” into a contemporary Mediterranean style Cafe bar.

Whilst creating our own strong identity for Sandbar our vision was for it to be an “inclusive” venue and it is now a café bar that is welcoming to people of all ages and walks of life. A place where anybody can feel comfortable, relaxed and get a taste of the surfing/beach lifestyle of Praa Sands.

Surfers, families, dog walkers, hikers & music lovers all enjoy tapping into the “Sandbar vibe”. Our patio is a favourite spot for taking in the views, soaking up the rays and watching the sunsets….. even in the winter! And for those of you who prefer to play inside we have a pool table, table football and even air hockey. Enough for any indoor sportsman!  Sandbar is open all day, every day from 10 am (11 am in the Winter) until 11 pm and later on music nights. We serve a varied selection of hot and cold drinks including smoothies and our well loved luxury hot chocolate enjoyed by many a shivering surfer after a winter's dip!

Whether you want to just graze or gorge you can order food at any time of day starting with one of our tasty breakfasts which range from a full English to “champagne & smoked salmon”. Our kitchen team have put together a tempting menu, cooking up tapas style “beach bites”, local seafood and some hearty traditionals like bangers & mash. Also very popular is the Sunday lunchtime carvery, always with a good selection of roasts & seasonal veg.
