Saltash Heritage

Saltash Heritage in Saltash, Cornwall, United Kingdom | Museum

Welcome to Saltash Heritage, United Kingdom. Saltash Heritgae was formed in 1986 by the late Cornelius 'Corny' Hearl and a group of like minded local people who wanted to see the formation of a permanent Museum for Saltash.

The aims of the Saltash Heritage is to collect, promote and research local history in Saltash and surrounding parishes and to maintain a Museum in Saltash.

After many years' hard work and fund raising by the committee and members of Saltash Heritage, in 2000 one of the original aims of Saltash Heritage was met - the founding of a permanent Museum in Saltash.

Saltash Heritage finally achieved one of its original aims, when, in 2000, it opened the Saltash Museum and Local History Centre at 17 Lower Fore Street, Saltash. There is a small permanent display about the history and well-known 'characters' of Saltash, and a temporary display is mounted during the summer months (April to November).
